It looks like Celtic’s deal with Adidas could end up helping them in keeping hold of Odsonne Edouard despite rumours linking him with a Parkhead exit.
There is no doubt that Odsonne Edouard is ‘The Man’ at Parkhead. When Moussa Dembele left for Lyon, not even the most optimistic Celtic fan could have predicted how good his fellow Frenchman would become. It is safe to say he has not let the Hoops feel Dembele’s absence.
That sparkling form has caught the attention of clubs around Europe. And they are sure to come for the Frenchman when the window reopens. As a result, Celtic have a huge decision to make.
Edouard’s contract with Celtic expires in 2022. Thus, if the club decide not to sell him next summer, that will significantly decrease his value in the transfer market. But selling him will put 10-in-a-row in danger as he is clearly the best player at Parkhead at the moment. As a result, the club will be hoping to convince him to extend his contract.
Alan Brazil has an exciting update regarding the situation though. Recently he claimed that Edouard was set to be handed the #7 shirt next season. Apparently it is a part of the Adidas deal.

The incentive of being a part of 10-in-a-row and the legendary #7 shirt will hopefully be enough to convince French Eddy to extend his stay at Parkhead.
