Video: Neil Lennon’s hilarious reaction to news of Rangers loss

Celtic Park
Glasgow, Scotland - July 27, 2014: The Main Stand at Celtic Park home of Glasgow Celtic Football Club in Scotland. The football stadium is the largest in Scotland.

Neil Lennon had a hilarious reaction to the news of Rangers’ 1-0 defeat against Hamilton Academical at Ibrox, leaving them 13 points behind Celtic.

Celtic have managed to widen the gap between them and the Rangers to 13 points despite not having the best performance away against Livingston in a 2-2 draw. Steven Gerrard’s struggling side drew a blank at home as they fell to a 1-0 defeat vs Hamilton Academical. And Neil Lennon’s reaction to the news was hilarious.

For most of the night it had looked like the Hoops were going to come out of Livingston empty handed. An early Callum McGregor opener was cancelled out by Guthrie in the 24th minute. And then Robinson gave the hosts the lead right after the break.

For the rest of the half Celtic tried to find a way through a resolute Livingston defence. Only for Tom Rogic to come off the bench to score a stoppage time equaliser. And that was even to hand the Hoops a point and extend their lead over the Rangers to 13 points.

Neil Lennon though seemed to be stunned by the news of his neighbours’ defeat. When the cameras pan towards him after Celtic’s equaliser, he seems to mouth the word ‘Hamilton?’ as if in disbelief.

Talkingbaws posted the video on Twitter:

Lennon’s disbelief at the result is hard to understand though. Rangers have been in terrible form over the past month or so. In their last 12 domestic games, they have lost four. This was their second consecutive defeat to a bottom-placed side in the Premiership. And with every defeat, Gerrard seems to move one step closer to the exit door.

They have a game in hand but even a win would leave them 10 points behind the defending champions. In their current form though, a defeat will not be surprising. It is funny how their fans where preparing for a title challenge just a month back and now cannot wait to see Gerrard get the sack. Football’s a funny game!
