If the reports are true, then Celtic is set to turn to Adidas for their new kits, abandoning New Balance for the football apparel giant.
Speculation about Celtic switching their kit over to Adidas has been occurring for months, with a ton of outlets reporting on the rumour. However, some traction has been built over the last 24 hours about the rumour after The Sun came out with a report that the deal between the two sides was on the verge of being completed.
The Hoops have been with New Balance for over five seasons. Many of their designs have drawn ire and criticism from the fans. A switch to Adidas would mark one of the biggest milestones in Scottish football in terms of the size of the deal. Furthermore, Adidas is world-renown for their sleek, and professional looking kit designs.
There is a big reason why many of the globe’s biggest club choose to use Adidas for their kits. Simply put, they are the best in the business.
According to The Sun, in the same report, Celtic’s deal with Adidas would break the Scottish football record for a kit contract:
“If concluded, it would be the biggest kit contract in Scottish football history and would start next season.
“Several leading brands have been fighting to replace New Balance as Celtic’s kit supplier.
“But Adidas are thought to be at the front of the queue after top-level discussions.”
Everything Celtic has a really cool rendering of a potential Adidas kit look. To be quite frank, it should excite Hoops fans. If the kit turns out anything like this, it will be a banger:
